The Role
We are looking for a talented CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to join the team and work in the office in Northern Virginia.  Candidates in active pursuit of their CFP will also be considered for the role.

As a Financial Planner CFP, you will work with Wealth Mangers and Advisors to develop personalized financial plans for clients as well as act as the subject matter expert for financial planning topics and methodology in the group.  This is a great opportunity to work side by side with a talented team and continue to grow your career in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop personalized and comprehensive goal-based Financial Plans for advisors and senior advisors to deliver to their clients. Advice provided includes, but is not limited to, retirement planning, investment planning, budgeting, saving, and spending analysis and Social Security claiming strategies. Actively engage with clients throughout the planning process.
• Update financial plans each year, or when a life event occurs
• Partner with Wealth Managers and Advisors to navigate and lead client conversations about a variety of complex financial planning topics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• 5+ years of total relevant work experience
• CFP® certification, or in active pursuit of CFP®
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of financial planning
• Consultative approach – active listening and assessment of needs, compassion and understanding, ability to change approach based on individual needs, and communicate in terms people can relate to and understand
• Ability to gather research and compile data and information in a clear and usable format
• Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing
• Initiative, dedication, and desire to thrive in a fast-changing entrepreneurial environment, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business
• Successfully completed Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) examinations (or FINRA recognized equivalents) sufficient to qualify for immediate FINRA registration
