Prestigious Design and Build firm is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Architecture & Design to join our award-winning team. This position is responsible for the design, architectural drawings, and permitting of all in-house projects, as well as overseeing projects designed with outside architects to ensure consistency with the firm's best practices. The successful candidate will manage and mentor the Design Team, ensuring high performance and exceptional work product, while working closely with the Business Development Team to deliver a seamless and engaging design-to-construction process for our clients.

Supervisory/Leadership Responsibilities:

• Supervision, training, and development of the Design Team.
• Future member of the Leadership Team, contributing to the overall direction and strategy of the company

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead the Design Team in producing innovative and successful design solutions.
• Foster a collaborative and productive environment within the Design Team.
• Ensure adherence to design standards and best practices to maintain high client satisfaction.
• Engage directly with clients to transform their visions into reality, from conceptualization to construction.
• Oversee the creation of comprehensive design and construction documents, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Stay abreast of the latest design trends, materials, and technologies.
• Support the Business Development Team with design functions, presentations, and technology solutions to enhance client experiences.
• Implement efficient resource management and workflow within the team.

Essential Duties:

• Direct involvement in all phases of the design process, including initial client consultations, schematic design, and development of construction documents.
• Collaboration with the Production Team to integrate value engineering and current construction techniques.
• Development and maintenance of design standards and best practices.
• Active contribution to the company's marketing efforts through authority marketing, social media, design blogs, and the use of technology to enhance client engagement.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture or a related field, with a preference for a licensed Architect.
• 10+ years of experience in residential design build, with a strong portfolio in remodeling projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of local and national building codes, and the DMV permitting process.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in architectural software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit), MS Office, and CRM systems. Experience with Matterport hardware and software is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
